| Seidokan Karate Class date & time Tuesday & Thursday 7pm to 9pm Instructor: Mr. Kouichi Takara Kouichi was born in 1948. It was in 1965 he first started his Martial Arts training and became member of the Gojyu Ryu Karate Club at Chubu industrial high school. After graduating in 1968 he started studying the Uechi Ryu style of karate. Kouichi then began studying Kyokushin karate in 1976 and became assistant director of Hasegawa Dojo for 12 years. In 1990, became a member of Seidokjan Ishikawa dojo. Finally in 2003, Mr. Takara became representative director of Seidokan Noborikawa branch. Seidokan Karate is a traditional Okinawan fighting art that includes: The kicking, punching, and blocking techniques of karate; the throwing and joint-locking techniques of Aiki-jujutsu (Toide); and the traditional weaponry of Okinawa (Kobudo), (i.e. the Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Kama, and Nunchaku, as well as the sword techniques of the Samurai). It is a most unusual art requiring open-minded students with a desire to develop strength, flexibility, and dexterity.
