Description of Art Form
Originated in 1945 by the late Grandmaster Hwang Kee as Hwa Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. The martial art practice later evolved to Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. Practitioners who currently study under the late Grandmaster Hwang Kee’s organization refer to it as Soo Bahk.
Tang Soo Do is an empty handed Korean Martial Art which utilizes dynamic kicking techniques from the Korean Kicking Art of Tae Kyon  similar to Tae Kwon Do . With hand techniques influenced by the Ancient Korean Art of Soo Bahk Do, Japanese Karate, and the Tang method of Chinese Martial Arts.

Master Adams began Martial Arts training over 30 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout the years, he studied many styles.

  • In 1989 under Master Lee In Hon, Kuson Air Base instructor, Master Adams received his first degree black belt in Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan as known as Tang Soo Do in Seoul, South Korea. Master Adams was fortunate enough to test in the presence of the late Grandmaster Hwang Kee, founder of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. Master Adams currently holds a fourth degree black belt; this is the degree of Master Instructor, under the guidance of Grandmaster Song Ki Kim, President of the World Dang Soo Do Union in Song Tan, South Korea.
