Cashier-Checker C3, (NF-2091-I) REG/FLEX

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sells a variety of merchandise and food items such as (but not limited to) prepackaged snacks, beverages, ice cream, specialty coffees and drinks, pastries, assorted sundries, tobacco and alcoholic beverages, and other products. Operates cash register, rings up the sale, checks bad checklist before accepting checks, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sales, or charges to member’s accounts. At the end of the tour of duty clears the cash register, and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventories. Maintains area in a clean and orderly condition, meeting sanitation requirements in a food activity. Performs checkout duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual items, totaling sales, processing credit card sales, receiving money, and making change. May perform related food service duties such as (but not limited to) assisting in setting up the serving line, showing customer’s to their tables and sitting them, replenishing beverage dispensers and condiment dispensers, wiping off patron seating areas ensuring a clean environment to eat at, ensuring kitchen staff is advised when brunch line requires replenishment. May be required to takes orders from customers and convey those orders to the kitchen staff. May mix and serve specialty coffees, drinks, ice cream, deserts, clod sandwiches, and other related products following a variety of established recipes. Additional duties unique to location and/or shift: Ensures that the appropriate area (i.e., Java Hut, TCBY, Route 66) is properly stocked with all the necessary supplies and products to maintain a smooth operation. Responsible to open or close the activity /section when assigned to the opening/closing shift. Responsible for accepting and processing telephone food and beverage orders. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the experience in responsible clerical or office work which includes demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic problems when receiving payments from customers. Must also have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes: (1) direct handling of cash items, (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Food Handler Training required.
