DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs over-the-counter sales of a wide
variety of Arts and Crafts related merchandise. Ensures that merchandise
is ordered, received, priced, stocked, displayed and inventoried following
established guidelines and procedures for inventory control and resource
protection. Orders, receives, and verifies inventory through the 1BPS
system. Takes recommendations from internal and external customers to
deterniine types of merchandise needed and to determine stock levels
to maintain, then advises supervisor of this information. Records sales,
and is able to teach new employees how to use the cash register and
point-of-sale system. Maintains a change fund; issues and receives change
funds from other clerks at shift change. Responsible for proper completion
and submission of daily cashier reports. Makes receiving reports based
on merchandise received. Responsible for pricing merchandise according
to pricing guides and updates that pricing into the POS system based
on the approval of the manager.
Must ensure proper inventory roation and teach new employees
these procedures. Relays supervisor instruction by assigning tasks to
meet the day to day productivity goals set by management. Ensures that
employees follow cash handling, security, safety, and housekeeping guidelines.
Demonstrates work methods and provides guidelines by conducting on the
job training and instruction. Informs supervisor of any disciplinary
problems. Obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on
problems that occur. Sets and posts schedules for all other sales clerks
with approval of supervisor in their absence. Works an irregualr schedule
and performs other duties deemed necessary by supervisor. Position is
a position of trust.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must
have knowledge to perform all duties above. Must have skills in computer
operations and cash registers. Knowledge of POS systems is desired.
Must posses basic math skills. Must be able to read and write English.
Appointment is subject of completion of a National Agency Check with
satisfactory results.
