CLERK (OFFICE AUTOMATION) (NF-0303-II)

DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs clerical work in support of the Karing Kennels. Uses
word processing software to produce a variety of documents. Transmit
and receives documents and messages electronically using personal computer
or workstation that is networked or linked to other computers or workstation
throughout the work area or organization. Prepares reports, statistical,
and financial data. Responsible for record management, to include: contract
files, catalogs, regulations, directives and posts changes are required.
Prepares receiving reports, transfers between activities, and other
controlled forms. Verifies the validity of documents. Balances cash
reports, reports on any overages and shortages, prepares deposits and
consolidated reports. Responsible for training cashiers on cash handling
protection and procedures. Type correspondence, reports, forms messages,
memoranda, statistical or tabular material, where spacing arrangements
are complicated, directly in final form without a rough draft. Arranges
the material in the form necessitated by the nature of the subject matter,
the purpose for which it is to be used, the format required by regulations,
style manuals or policy. Performs a variety of general office duties
such as receiving telephone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence,
and maintaining files. Prepares and safeguards consolidated cashier's
reports and ensures deposit/processing of related receipts and documentation.
Ensures change fund issuing procedures and policies are strictly enforced.
Inputs into several software programs to maintain employee time and
attendance, budget, periodic accounting reports, personnel actions and
other financial records. Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have experience in reasonable clerical or office work
of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform
satisfactorily at the grade level of position. Must be able to type
accurately and have experience with various computer software. Knowledge
of basic NAF accounting and bookkeeping process is desirable. Must satisfactorily
complete a National Agency Check with favorable results. Must be able
to obtain a food handler's certificate.
