Recreation Aid (Bowling) (NF-0189-01)
Starting: $6.80/ph, Location: Emery Lanes


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties and/or assists others in the operation and maintenance of the bowling centers. Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for tournaments, league and open bowling, parties, special functions; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or rental items, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return; decorates bowling center for special events, activities, or parties; assists patrons with selecting merchandise, ringing up sales, correcting lane malfunctions and computer scoring problems, filling out equipment damage reports; logs in lost and found items and places them in a secure area; reports major equipment malfunctions or problems to supervisor on duty; keeps work area in a neat manner, replenishes stock of resale items in display cases and cabinets; checks the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and areas and equipment; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies, equipment and resale items; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks. May be required to sell, prepare, cook and serve pizzas, hot dogs, nachos, other simple food items and beverages. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

No experience is required; however, practical knowledge of bowling to include basics of the sport such as scoring, etiquette, techniques, rules, and types of equipment and accessories used is necessary. Applicants must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days as needed, evenings, some midnight shifts, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be able to obtain a food handler's card and be at least 18 years of age if required to serve alcohol.
