Supervisory
Accounting Technician, (NF-0525-III), REG DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a full range of accounting duties using doubLe-entry accounting methods for income reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, slots machines, or general ledger. Provides supervision, training, and accounting guidance for accounting technicians in the income reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory, or payroll areas. Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to established accounts. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for services provided and assigns charges appropriately. Reports prepared may include profit and loss statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous financial reporting data. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of assigned accounting technicians, Monitors the private organization files and assures they are being maintained in accordance with regulatory guidance and kept current. Assures work distribution is equal and being performed accurately, efficiently, and expeditiously in order to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include: selection, promotion> reassignment, and discipline of personnel. Develops performance plans, appraises performance, and provides feedback. Uses appropriate rewards and corrective actions in performance inanagenient and regularly reviews employee developmental needs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have two years experience in work which provided
a comprehensive knowledge of fund accounting methods, procedures and
teclrniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts
in accounting systems encompassing a number of diversified activities.
Must also have one year experience in nonappropnated fund accounting.
Must also have experience for receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit,
or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling
of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must
have good oral and written communication skills. Able to lift and carry
computer-generated products and paper supplies up to 30 pounds. Successful
completion of a National Agency Check is required.
