Recreation Assistant (Youth)(NF-0189-II)
Starting: $8.39/ph, Location: Youth Center
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs, leads, and assists in operations and maintenance of recreational
facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and
regulations to be observed. Types of duties include, but are not limited
to, the following: guides children in planned play activities; supervise
assigned youth participants in indoor or outdoor games; instructs charges
in good manners, acceptable behavior, and desirable attitudes; monitors
self-directed activities to assist when needed, as in the case of individual
reading sessions of table games; schedules and conducts tours and field
trips; and assists scout troops in specific projects leading to the
award of badges such as camping, sewing, collecting or citizenship.
Relays instructions from the supervisor, gets the work started, sets
the work pace, provides work-related guidance as necessary, and performs
supervisory duties in an emergency or other short-term and nonrecurring
basis. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must have experience which provided a working familiarity
with the routines and procedures following in a group activities or
programs, and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational
activities equipment, rules and procedures which involved recreation
work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must
satisfactorily complete installation, state and national criminal background
checks. Will require come lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally. Must
satisfactorily complete a physical examination within 30 days of employment.
Must have a valid USFJ driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Food
Handlers Certificate. Must meet minimum age of 18yrs to work with youth
independently.
