Assistant (NF-0189-II),
Starting: $8.39/ph, Location: Youth Center
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in
the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Types of duties
include but are not limited to: guides children in planned play activities;
setting up recreational areas for scheduled activities, decorating the
facility, gathering supplies and equipment, taking attendance, taking
reservations and collecting fees, notifying participants of program
requirements and changes, guiding or assisting participants with activities,
enforcing rules, resolving minor problems, charging out, receiving and
checking for condition of equipment and tools, taking inventory of supplies
and equipment, operating snack bar, accountability for change funds,
opening and securing facility at close of business, assisting with housekeeping
and maintenance of facility. Works an uncommon tour of duty. Performs
other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have working experience in youth programs, and/or recreation
activities. Should have leadership capabilities and posses maturity
and good judgment and like working with youth. Must satisfactorily complete
installation, national agency checks and state criminal background checks.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Will require some
lifting up to thirty pounds occasionally. Must meet the minimum age
of eighteen (18) to work with youth independently. Must satisfactorily
complete a physical examination within 30 days of employment.
