DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for coordinating and organizing the assigned programmed
activities. The incumbent helps prepare, plan, and lead variety of activities
and programs to stimulate the interest of youth in culture, social,
recreational, educational, sports and civic areas. Assists by providing
guidance and instruction to recreation aids. Conducts required Air Force
operational training for programs. Assists in coordinating and organizing
all the details of the activities to include; supplies, equipment and
other services needed to accomplish the scheduled activity. Will be
required to periodically operate motor vehicles for special trips. Recommends
ideas or new initiative programs to enhance youth participation. Oversees
the proper safety and accountability of the program participants at
all times. Enforces the program rules and regulations. Ensures that
recreation aids are following procedures, policies and directives in
accordance with youth regulations. Collects, safeguards and deposits
fees received from customers. Works an uncommon tour to include, nights,
weekends, holidays and some overnight activities. Transports youth for
field trips and to activities. Vehicle operations requires driving a
29-passenger bus, vans and sedans. Performs other related duties as
assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and
procedures following in group activities or programs; and practical
knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules
and procedures which involved recreation work in the area of specialty
in which the position is assigned. Must satisfactorily complete installation,
national agency check, and state criminal background checks. Knowledge
of the range of activities, participant needs, and interests in application
of youth sports program. Physical requirements: work requires long periods
of standing, stooping, bending, and periodic lifting objects 50 pounds
or lighter. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a physical examination
within 30 days of employment. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s
Certificate.
