Float Plan
To make it easy for our moored members here at Kadena Marina we have posted an electronic version of our "Float Plan".
The policy for any authorized person using our harbor is to make sure you have filed a "Float Plan" prior to your departure via your watercraft. This is for safety reasons, especially if you do not return. We can use this float plan as a means to locate you or at least give us a general idea where we can start searching.
You can fill this out at home or work, and simply e-mail it to the harbormaster or print a copy and place it in our drop-box.
Learn
to Sail at the Kadena Marina Keel
Boat Course only $219 (Does not include ASA Sailing class materials)
The sailors of Kadena Marina are
devoted to promoting the tradition of sailing
in Okinawa. Sailing lessons are now being offered
with the American Sailing Association (www.american-sailing.com)
from beginner to advanced levels. Basic
Keelboat 101(Beginner) courses are taught
weekends (Friday, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays
& Sundays, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and qualify
participants to rent one of Kadena Marina's
Capri 18 sailboats and similar boats anywhere
in the world.
For those interested in sailing beyond the horizon,
ASA Basic Coastal Cruising
103 (Intermediate), Bareboat
Chartering 104 (Advanced) and Coastal
Navigation 105 courses are also offered.
Intermediate and advanced sailing courses will
be taught as part of a private weekend charter
trip to the Kerama Islands aboard the 32-ft
classic American Yacht Intrepid, with your ASA
sailing instructor as the skipper. Take a Power Boat Safety
Course! The
fishing season is just around the corner,
so if you live in the Kadena Marina area,
make sure you have your powerboat license
and your fishing tackle ready to go. Boating
classes are available by appointment.

Cruises Private Sunset Cruise • 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Departure times vary and depend on the sunset. For those interested in an evening of sailing off the coast of Okinawa, you can charter Intrepid for a relaxing private sunset cruise which includes snacks and beverages. Intrepid is ideal for one or two couples. Call 634-6344 for more information and to sign up for sailing lessons or a sunset cruise.
